Operation Lifesaver
Operation Lifesaver is a nationwide, non-profit public information program dedicated to reducing collisions, injuries and fatalities at highway-rail grade crossings and on railroad rights-of-way. Through a network of state coordinators in 49 states (excluding Hawaii), Operation Lifesaver sends nearly 2,000 volunteers into the field to deliver a highway-rail safety message. They have a cool animated crossing-gate logo too!

Fatigue Countermeasures Program

This department of NASA has been collecting systematic and scientific information on fatigue, sleep, circadian rhythms, and in-flight operations since 1980. The work they have been doing, although intended for flight operations, relates very closely to the conditions we work under here at the railway.

Circadian Information
Circadian Information is part of the larger Circadian Group, which includes a consulting firm, Circadian Technologies, Inc., that advises companies on biocompatible shift schedules and conducts shiftworker lifestyle training.

Circadian Information serves managers and workers in round-the-clock operations, helping to increase human alertness. They provide objective, authoritative information and resources to help improve health, safety and performance of workers.
