Public Speaking & Demonstrations

The Sarnia Lambton CCB White Cane Club regularly accepts speaking invitations from the community.   Typically they are from: educators, service groups, service agencies, and government agencies.  Various members of the Club will respond to these requests.  Essentially they are viewed as "awareness development" or "sensitization" sessions.  The member being a blind person can therefore speak with some authority on the issues and needs facing blind people today.

In addition a selection of "aids" used in daily living are displayed and demonstrated.  Naturally, a presentation is tailored to the type of audience.  It is also an opportune time to promote the Sarnia Lambton CCB White Cane Club.  This program is consistent with the purpose and objectives of the Canadian Council of the Blind, and of course enhances the presence and image of the Club.
