"From the past, to the present, for the future: The members of the Sarnia Handweavers and Spinners Guild have reached into their country's multicultural past to find inspiration for their creations made in the present and placed in their time capsule for future generations to enjoy".
Our time capsule is a one-metre high handwoven basket with lid, designed to contain all the items in our display. A variety of items , woven as individual or group projects, were unpacked and displayed, including a tablecloth, jewellery, purses, baskets, mats, Christmas cards with handwoven inserts, and scarves.
A highlight of the display was a weaving record book, containing the notes and samples made by the Dutch grandmother of a guild member.
