The Program Team is committed to developing a diverse selection of high quality Sunday service experiences. You can assist by suggesting possible speakers, being a part of the team, offering to train as a Service Leader, presenting a topic, joining the choir or by simply showing up on Sunday as an active participant.
Please talk to Allan McKeown (Program Team Chair), Wendy Cornelis and Sharon McKay or our music director Jessica Core.
Nov 22: "African Safari" Guest Speaker Mike Hurry
Service Leader Sharon McKay. Today will be an "Intergenerational service"! Mike Hurry, executive director of Sarnia-Lambton Big Brothers will present a slide show of his fund raising adventure trip in Africa.
Nov 29: "The Welcoming Congregation" Guest Speaker Art Brewer
Service Leader Wendy Starr. Art is a Unitarian activist for gay rights and a major force in convincing Unitarian congregations across Canada to become "welcoming congregations". Art will share his inspiring story with us.
This Sunday is "Soup Sunday"! You are invited to stay for a bowl of delicious home made soup and bread.
Dec 6: "A World Without Polio" Guest Speaker Tanya Wolff
As a dedicated Rotarian, Tanya volunteers in many developing countries on various projects. One of these is the Rotary International Polio Immunization Campaign that has taken her to India, Egypt, Mali and Niger. Tanya will share her experiences about this highly successful initiative.
Dec 13: "This won't hurt a bit!" Service Leader Allan McKeown
If you remember your doctor making that promise to you as a child, before he/she stuck a needle into your arm, you may have learned to be forever skeptical of medical advice or information! But what are the consequences of ignoring "expert opinion" regarding your child's health or vaccination recommendations? As Unitarians we are encouraged to "heed the guidance of reason and the results of science". How do we ensure that our decisions are "fact-based" in a world of often conflicting information and opinion?
Dec 20: "Tales of a Shopping Mall Santa" Service Leaders Tim van Bodegom and Jessica Core
INTER-GENERATIONAL. This "world premiere" by our "famous" directors will feature a cast of well known faces. Truly, an experience to gladden the spirit. Dickens would be proud!
Dec 27: "Holiday Reflections"
INTER-GENERATIONAL. An informal gathering to share some singing, stories, reflections and memories. Please bring your "leftovers" to share (if you have any!)
