Our
meetings are held the second Friday of the month (except June, July, and August) at
7:30p.m. at the:
Newton Center (Newton Park)
1481 McCrie St. (corner of McCrie & Cathcart Blvd)
The Sarnia Rock and Fossil Club was founded in 1966. Membership is open
to anyone who is interested in rocks, minerals, fossils, jewellery making and rock crafts
(Lapidary). Our meetings start with a short business portion prior to a talk or
demonstration followed by a social hour. A children's program can be held during the
business portion of the Club meeting.
For those who wish to participate, Field trips are arranged periodically
for collecting rocks, minerals and fossils. Trips to Gem and Mineral Shows hosted in
nearby cities are also well attended.
The Club Newsletter, The Narrow News,
informs the members of upcoming events and meetings. There are always articles of
general interest with contributions from any member greatly appreciated. It is
mailed to all members prior to each meeting.
Our Activities include Demonstrations, Field Trips, Guest Speakers,
Club Newsletter, and an annual Picnic and Dinner.
