Our Philosophy...
Palliative care is a philosophy of active, compassionate care of people with a terminal illness, which is aimed at improving the quality of their remaining lives physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Relief of suffering is the primary goal.

What is Palliative Care?
Palliative care means giving quality care and dignity to the dying and their families.  This type of care comes in many forms, such as hospital care, home care and hospice, private nursing, volunteers or through various medical and health care organizations and professionals.

The Goals of the SLPCA are:

• To promote an awareness of palliative care issues in the community
• To advocate for comprehensive palliative care services
• To promote educational opportunities
• To foster networking and support for professionals, and others with an interest in palliative care
