Raiser Barbeque
12
Sept 1998
Tentative arrangements have been made for the Association to have a Barbeque at the Beaver Lumber Store on Saturday, Sept 12. They are having a big annual sidewalk sale, and are expecting a lot of people. If anyone wants to help cook, let Tom know. We would need about three people for cooking, and more to talk and do some PR.1 would say from about 11:00 until about 2:00 pm. We should be able to make a few hundred dollars. (Herbivores welcome) Tom.
Pedi-Mate Child Restraint
A
price has been secured for three child restraint seats from Ferno. Waiting
for responses from potential sponsors.Details
at the next meeting.
Shirts
for Members
Nino Ruggirello has been working really hard on trying to get us a good price on some shirts. So far, the places on Mitton Street (Team Outfitters) have been the only ones to commit to a price.
Mayor
Mike Bradley
Tom
and Gary met with Mayor Bradley in Sarnia City Hall on 26 August at 11:00
am. This was to be an introductory meeting to let Mayor Bradley know about
our association. Mayor Bradley was very interested to hear about our organization.
The
meeting went very well, and the Mayor is receptive to further meetings
as needed when the time is right. We feel that the Mayor views our association
as another useful resource to help him better sees the big picture.
The
Mayor is interested to see the McNamara Report.
Mayor
Bradley suggested that it was premature to worry about any possible scenarios
that might unfold with the downloading issue.
Web
Page
Chuck
has done a really nice job of setting up a web page. The address is as
follows: www.sarnia.com/groups/paramedics
As Chuck says, it still needs some “yadda yadda yadda”.An
idea was brought to us about an interactive case review on our web site.
The idea is that we would pick a couple of calls, keeping them confidential
of course, and put them on the site. We could then detail our findings
and management, and give~ viewers to the web site an opportunity to agree/disagree
with our care and offer their comments. Maybe a doc could be persuaded
to offer a paragraph or two about what he thought of our care, which could
also be added to the site. The comments that come in could be printed for
everybody to see. Only an idea, but if someone would like to get some information
together and organize it so that Chuck can put it on the site, please feel
free to volunteer. (No ACR’s please)
Newsletter
Contributions
If anyone has anything to say, and would like to have their views, opinions, or observances typed into this newsletter, leave a copy of what you want included in my mailbox, or you can e-mail it to me. Tom email rocket@htl.net
Association
Membership
Our membership now includes 100% of the full-time people (way to go Garry Mc), and everyone from part-time except two. Not bad.
Sarnia
Fire Chief Boyes
This
is a reminder that Sarnia Fire Chief Boyes has agreed to come and address
the Association on Sept. 15 at 19:45 hours at a place to be named
soon. Hopefully we will all be on our best behavior. (This isn’t a lynchin’)
If you get a chance to read the McNamara report, you might find some of
the information pertinent to what Chief Boyes may be talking about.
Association
Minutes and Correspondence
This is a reminder that any member wanting to see previous minutes or correspondence can do so by coming to the meetings. If you can’t make it, but still want to see the books, let Gary C. or Tom know.
(PS:
The slide presentation is still in production. Please smile when it is
your chance for a “photo op”. )
