A journey to remember:
Even though we are not experienced outdoor campers, we realized that there are a couple of factors that will make your trip memorable.
First of all, we were very lucky to be in a team of 11 people. Some of those we knew from before and some we just met. By the end of the trip we had all become friends and promised to keep in touch with each other. Each and every member of our team was unique and brought something special to our journey.
The second factor of a great trip is the experienced and confident guides. We were lucky to have Jen and Adam as our guides. A lot of great energy and joyful moments was brought by Jen. We still can hear her laughing even, in a scary situation.
The last, but not least factor, is certainly the “moving power” – the dogs. Even now we still remember our six dogs with their individual personalities. Our lead dogs were: Roddy and Teeka; our point dogs: Goblin and Cody and our wheel dogs: Luce and Tanner. We enjoyed every moment spent with those dogs from early morning when we helped Jen feed them until late night when we put them to bed and in between during day time when we had a great ride with them.
This whole experience was great and worth the seven hours drive, couple of bruises and a few SMALL muscle pains.
However, the most important thing was the great organization. Our meetings, prior to the expedition, helped a lot. We were very well prepared for the cold weather, rain, sun, snow and unexpected events. Thanks to Tony, everything went smoothly.
Unfortunately, Barbara-Ann could not participate; however all our thoughts were about her and we hope next time we will be together.
