Our process

1.  - People who need budget planning, tutoring, used furniture, transportation - all kinds of practical needs - are referred to the NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton Resource Centre by churches, agencies and individuals by calling 336-5465.

2.  Appraising the need -  The NeighbourLink Resource Centre staff works cooperatively with service agencies to assist the caller, determining if there is a deeper, underlying cause for the need. Is there an agency that can provide the needed help? How best can the caller be assisted?

3.  The helping church - If the need is best met by a church, NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton staff calls a Volunteer Coordinator to identify the volunteers and material resources potentially available at their church. Volunteers from churches are then connected with people in need in their neighborhoods. Those receiving assistance can in turn become involved in the church extending care to them.

4.  Follow-up - NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton follows-up with those involved in the process. The church volunteers, those receiving assistance and whoever made the original referral are contacted as needed to make certain that the experience actually achieved its goal.
