Our organization

Ownership - NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton is owned and governed by its Sarnia-Lambton member churches through an elected Board of Directors.

Office - NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton has operated an office (Resource Centre) since December 1, 1993. The Resource Centre operates as a clearinghouse and provides no direct or on-site services. It is entirely staffed by its member church volunteers who have been trained by NeighbourLink. Help from NeighbourLink is requested by calling 336-LINK. The Resource Centre assesses requests for help, then connects needs to appropriate sources of help such as member churches, or community service agencies. NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton co-ordinates, rather than duplicates, existing helping services.

Member churches - NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton churches designate two or more Volunteer Coordinators to identify and call on church volunteers and material resources to meet needs referred to them by the Resource Centre.

Agency Cooperation - We have worked hard at developing an excellent reputation with many local service agencies.  Working with agencies in areas such as community resources inventories, NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton promotes efficient use of services, identifies chronic dependents who need self-help skills, and fosters cooperation between the churches and agencies.
