Our history

NeighbourLink was founded by Dr. Virgil Gulker in Holland, Michigan in 1977 under the name of Love Inc. This grass-roots approach of involving Christian volunteers to help their neighbours in need has expanded rapidly to involve thousands of churches from over 50 denominations in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

In 1990, World Vision Canada introduced the NeighbourLink community ministry program into this country under the name of NeighbourLink Canada. Today NeighbourLink affiliates are operating in over 30 communities across Canada.
