L.W.I. Native Plant Sale

Another successful native plant sale took place on May 11th which raised $1500.00 for our Land Acquisition Fund. We were fortunate in having a lovely spring day, and gardeners, both knowledgeable and those seeking knowledge on native plant gardening flocked to our sale.

Many thanks to Barb and John Teasell and George Sunaitis for once again opening their gardens for the sale. We had a hard working and dedicated committee. Special thanks to John Teasell, without whose native plants and ferns, the sale would not have been the success it was. Also thanks to our exellent volunteers both Friday night and the day of the sale. Altogether it was both a lot of fun and a great fund raiser. .

Donation

On behalf of LWI I want to thank Dow Chemical Canada Inc. for the recent donation of a filing cabinet to accommodate our archives. The one we were using is a vertical 4 drawer cabinet which is not very deep and was pretty much filled. The new one is in much better condition and although it has only 3 drawers it is the wide drawer type and holds over twice what the older one did as well as holding longer items such as rolled up posters. As a result we should have enough room for archival records for several years to come.
