Dear Young Naturalists

With a little help from Mother Nature we will start to receive warm sunny days and cold frosty nights to give us the right conditions for the sap to flow in Sugar Maple trees. It's sugaring off time!

Come and visit the sugar bush to experience how maple syrup is made.

TIME:
11:00a.m. - 12:00 (Meet me at the sugar shack)

COST:
free admission to site

AGENDA:
15 min. maple syrup game
10 min. tree tapping, physiology of tree, and conservation of sugar bush
25 min. tour of native and pioneer methods
10min. tour on modern method of collecting sap and sugaring off in the sugar shack

Families are welcome to stay after the tour to visit other exhibits on site or drive over to the arena in Alvinston for pancakes and syrup. (five minute drive) .

Leaving from Corunna:
Drive east on Petrolia line to Hwy. 79.
Turn right on Hwy 79. Travel south on Hwy 79 until you see signs for the festival.
Turn left on Shiloh line which takes you right into the conservation area.

Leaving from Sarnia:
Take Hwy. 402 to exit for Hwy. 79 (Watford exit)
Turn right on Hwy. 79 and travel south until you see the sign for the festival.
Turn left on Shiloh Line which takes you right into the conservation area.
