George Krause, Gord Catterson and I attended the regional meeting of the Federation of Ontario Naturalists on March 29 . These meetings are an opportunity to find out what other clubs in our area are doing and to exchange information on speakers and outings.

It is also a chance for the clubs to support each other on worthwhile projects. At this meeting the St Thomas Field Naturalists announced that they are publishing a field guide on the butterflies of Southern Ontario. They were asking for financial helpfrom the other clubs in our region and I am happy to report that LWI contributed $500 to help them publish their field guide. It will be similar to the excellent field guide "Dragonflies and Damselflies of Southern Ontario" that we have been selling at our Indoor meetings and to which we also contributed $500. The Bert Miller Nature Club of Fort Erie is asking for support in their efforts to save a valuable old forest called Marcy Woods. There is an insert in this issue of EARTHWAYS explaining the rally that they are organizing on Sat. Apr 26. George Krause and I are planning to attend the rally, so give either of us a call if you are interested in going with us.

Kim Gledhill has been very busy with the Young Naturalists Program. They have had numerous meeting and outings with as many as 18 young people in attendance. Thank-you Kim for doing this important job for LWI.

It's been a long and cold winter, but our outings helped to make it enjoyable. Mary Harman organized another successful Down River Ducks trip with Alf Rider as our leader. Paul Carter led two interesting winter outings to the Niagara and Hamilton area. Thank-you to all the outing leaders.

Our Indoor Program was very successful with interesting speakers and good attendance for the year. Thank-you George for your work as Indoor Chairman.

In addition to being the editor of EARTHWAYS, coordinator of the Howard Watson Nature Trail and LWI archivist, Gord Catterson has found time to produce a list of all the records, publications, memorabilia, equipment, etc that LWI owns. It's called Lambton Wildlife Incorporated Possessions List and will be available at next year's Indoor Meetings for your inspection. Thank-you Gord.

I hope everyone has a wonderful summer!
