The Goldenrod Spider

The Goldenrod Spider, a.k.a. the Flower Spider, is a member of the Crab Spider family. Spiders of this particular family hold their legs outstretched to the sides like a crab and can move forward, backwards or sideways. They do not spin webs, but instead hide in flowers and wait for an insect to come along. They can slowly change colour from white to yellow to blend in with the flower they have selected for their ambush site.
