Frito Pie Catering Company

  • Government of OntarioFor the third year the Learning Disabilities Association of Lambton County has received funding from the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to run their Youth Entrepreneur Program for youths 15-20. During the summer we will be attending events in the Lambton County area selling our "Frito Pies & More". We are not only selling our Frito Pies (a bag of Fritos covered with homemade yummy chili, sour cream and grated cheddar cheese), but we have added pulled pork, and hot dogs to our menu. The participants have a chance sharing in the profits raised at these events and they attend information packed mentoring sessions on business related subjects. During the summer they learn how to properly prepare a business plan, marketing, networking, safe food handling, social media, social skills and many other skills necessary to be a successful business owner. This summer some of our mentors who have joined our team are Dan & Ray of Kone Marketing, Sue Reiger of Vantage One, Tiffany White, Scott Palko of CCI Studios and many more who want to share their enthusiasm and knowledge. Every year more community minded mentors step forward to offer their expertise and understanding of the exciting world of entrepreneurship.
