New programs for 2015

  • Young Entrepreneur Summer Day Camp
In a group setting (maximum 10 students) kids will develop a business plan, create and develop a product and sell that product locally. Profits will be divided among the students at the end of camp. Help your kids EARN money this summer!
  • Kids Positive Program
Our Kid's Positive and Kid's Positive Jr. Program are social skills programs designed for children aged 9-12, and 6-8 respectively. Each program runs for 10 weeks. Designed to improve social and behavioural skills and self-esteem, children practice skills within a group of their peers. Through the Kids Positive Programs, we strive to enable children with Learning Disabilities to reach their full social and emotional potential. Although designed for children with Learning Disabilities and/or ADHD, all children can benefit from a session. We get very positive feedback from families.
  • Study Smart
Our Study Smart program is a 10 week program for students in grades 7-10 which teaches organizational and time management skills necessary in order to become a better student. The program includes learning new note taking, study and test taking skills. The key to success for students at any level of education are habits and attitudes that the students bring with them. Students can learn how to be effective learners and they can develop skills to help them achieve their goals. To do well over the school year requires planning, organization and knowledge of learning strategies. These skills are attainable by any student, if they are given the correct strategies. Study Smart will give the students the tools to help experience success, which in turn will foster dedication and motivation.
  • Family Math
Family Math is a 6 week, play-based program which is directed towards parents with children in grades 2-5. The aim is to provide children with a positive experience in mathematics and provide parents with the confidence to better help their children enjoy and understand math. A meal and child care is provided to participating families. Parents who are interested in bringing this program to their school are encouraged to have their school or parent council contact LDALC.
