Who is Ron?

Since 1979 Ronald George has held the position of principal horn with Orchestra London with whom he appears regularly as a soloist. As well as his duties with OLC Ronald teaches at the Faculty of Music at the University of Western Ontario. After graduating from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Music degree in performance Ron was the recipient of a Canada Council grant enabling him to spend a year studying in Germany with Hermann Baumann, a renowned international soloist.

Ron is in demand both as an orchestral and chamber musician and can be heard regularly on the CBC. His recent musical activities include touring and recording for Sony Classics with Tafelmusik, touring with the Calgary Philharmonic and Opera Atelier in Europe and Japan, and performing in concert with the Toronto, National Arts Centre and Detroit Symphony Orchestras.

This summer marks his eighteenth on the faculty of the Interprovincial Music Camp.
